Confirmation is the sacrament of the Holy Spirit as given to the apostles and disciples on Pentecost.

"Preparation for Confirmation should aim at leading the Christian toward a more intimate union with Christ and a more lively familiarity with the Holy Spirit. The Candidate for Confirmation who has attained the age of reason must profess the faith, be in the state of grace, have the intention of receiving the sacrament, and be prepared to assume the role of disciple and witness to Christ." (CCC 1309, 1319)

For students, preparation for Confirmation begins in 6th grade, and takes place in 8th grade.

  • 6th Grade: Receive student Bible and independent study of Salvation History, participate in Old Testament activities on campus, and conclude with a Seder meal in March.
  • 7th Grade: Review basic doctrine of the Church, participate in a fun Doctrine Review game followed by a Doctrine Exam.
  • 8th Grade: Study liturgy, moral life in Christ, and serve God by serving others, participate in a retreat and peer ministry.

For adults who have been Baptized and wish to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, please see Becoming Catholic (RCIA) to learn more.
