The Seven Sorrows devotion involves praying seven Hail Marys a day, each one while meditating on one of Our Lady’s seven sorrows, which are:

• The prophecy of Simeon.  
• The flight into Egypt. 
• The loss of the Child Jesus in the temple. 
• The meeting of Jesus and Mary on the Way of the Cross. 
• The Crucifixion and Death of Jesus.  
• The taking down of the Body of Jesus from the Cross and preparation for burial.  
• The burial of Jesus.

How to Pray the Seven Sorrows Rosary

• Introductory Prayers: Begin on the crucifix or medal with an opening prayer or an Act of Contrition.
• Announce each Sorrow: Name one of the Seven Sorrows (such as the prophecy of Simeon or the crucifixion), then pray one Our Father.
• Pray Seven Hail Marys: Meditate on the pain Mary felt during that specific sorrow while praying seven Hail Marys.
• Concluding invocation: After each sorrow, say: "Holy Mother, hear my prayers, and renew in my heart each wound of Jesus my Savior."
• Final beads: Pray three final Hail Marys on the last beads to honor the tears of the Sorrowful Mother, and close with a final prayer.
