Congratulations to this year’s winners of the Joan Lenard Award — Lukas Birutis and Danielle Wilinski!
Given in remembrance of Joan Lenard, who taught at Holy Trinity from 1991 to 2005, the Joan Lenard award is designed to place emphasis on the development of Christian values displayed through the qualities of faith, service, integrity, honesty and scholarship.
Joan was a woman of prayer and virtue - an individual who lived a life of Christian values. Because she believed strongly in serving children, two eighth graders who demonstrate qualities like Joan's are acknowledged annually in her honor.
Holy Trinity School Class of 2019 alumnus Benjamin Steger graduated Magna Cum Laude from Westmont High School in May. Ben is graduating as an AP Scholar and an Illinois State Scholar and received awards for both. He received the school’s John Philip Sousa Award for his contributions to the band program for writing parts and an original composition. Ben also received the World Language Department French Award, as he was the only student in his class to place in French 2 as a freshman, ultimately leading to his completion of French 5. Finally, he received the Math Department Award, having passed the AP Calculus BC test with a 5 out of 5 score and completing all the classes in the math program. He will be attending University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign for Mathematics in the fall.
Congratulations on your stellar accomplishments, Benjamin! You have made Holy Trinity proud!
